Technically it's just turned Wednesday here, so I'm gonna post this now before I change my mind. I was planning on doing something much more exciting than this, but a change of plans thwarted that idea. Nevermind.

If I've learnt one thing, it's that Garrus is a pain in the arse to draw!

Skylian Blitz This

I bought my Xbox 360 way back when for two reasons, one was Halo 3 and the other was a new Bioware game on the way called Mass Effect. I literally knew next to nothing about Mass Effect before I owned the game which is maybe why it quickly became one of my all time favorite games and why the conclusion to the trilogy is my most anticipated title in gaming history.

I didn't even know you could be a man or a woman, naturally I rolled FemShep to give myself a truly unique experience from the endless Duder-Space Marines out there. I've not been able to ever play anything but FemShep since, so for this week I've dooded Eden Shepard, my Shepard! I wanted to draw Garrus, maybe next time.

Haven't got much time today, so, here's part of the crap ton of warm-up doodles I did. QUANTITY OVER QUALITY TODAY I GUESS!

Pandora's fauna

I got some inspiration taking a good look at "the art of Avatar". I tried to imagine a creature that could live among Na'vis and Viperwolves and Direhorses. I think it's the respective to our Komodo dragons :)

Wow, I'm updating with a few hours to spare, that's a first!

I thought about painting a Na'vi for this weeks theme, but I couldn't settle on an interesting idea. In the end I settled for another environment painting, which isn't a bad thing considering how amazing Pandora looked in that film. Seriously.

This didn't come out quite how I'd envisioned it, but I'm still fairly happy with it.

Na'vi-Nine Reasons To Win.

It's Avatar week, a theme chosen by our resident Sculptor. I had a little trouble deciding what to do for this weeks theme, then I recalled Nils suggesting that we could Na'vi-fy ourselves or our characters for the week as an interesting challenge- so thanks for the inspiration man!

I've Na'vi'd 99, the main character from my comic Felicity, I figured she'd translate to be one hell of a Horse-rider when it came to the world of Pandora.

For anyone who is huge on Avatar and isn't impressed with my Horse-likeness, sorry! The only decent reference I could get was a picture of the toy they made for this thing. And man, Six legs. Six of them. I thought regular horses were hard enough to draw, sheesh.

I'm late :<

Due to a lack of time I had to do with a really quick sketch this time

When I was a kid, this was the only Super Mario game I cared about. No others had interested me before. Hell, I've never even actually played any of the 2D games (always been crap at 2D Mario games). BUT. I did watch my brother play this one. All the time. And if I ever did pick up the controller and play, I had one goal.

Good dinosaur, best friend.

Super Mario World

Early morning in the Mushroom Kingdom?

I honestly struggled to come up with an idea for this one. There's already such a diverse amount of fan art for the series that it's difficult to come up with something new. Luckily for me, this popped into my head before the end of the evening!

One day I'll stop cutting it so fine. Maybe?

Let's kick off Super Mario World week here at Super Sketch Squad. The wee fat plumber maybe having a huge influence on our sketch blog title- I also seem to have done a bit of a Ben here with this entry.

I can have alot of gaming memorys with Super Mario World, it was probably the game I played the most back when we had a Super Nintendo- my lasting memory of the game has always been the massive Bullet Bills that were in the first level and onwards. I remember my tiny little mind being blown at how huge they were- possibly also alittle scared.

Fan Service

First comes first: Adam, I totally forgot to post here last week, I'm sooo sowy! :'(

Anyway, I'd love to see a Star Wars cartoon traditionally animated. Chris Battle should be the director of it and Brianne Drouhard the character designer!

Did you find anything?

As a kid, before I decided I wanted to be a cartoonist, for the longest time I wanted to be a Stormtrooper. Not just any Stormtrooper but a Sand Trooper- those guys wore the orange pauldrons and rode around on giant Lizards. Giant. Lizards. Enough said.

Jedi Relfexes

Today we bid a fond farewell to Theme One; Beyond Good & Evil and welcome STAR WARS as Theme Two. The full rootin', tootin' universe is open for exploring so you can expect a wide variety of sketchy tributes of the various characters and creatures from the well loved franchise.

Today is also our first Guest Artist Monday entry, with Tracy Deines popping in her Podracer to bring us this sketch of Anakin from Episode One.

Expect an update from myself tomorrow, if you want to submit any guest work yourself please contact one of us here at the sketch blog and keep an eye on those upcoming themes.
